Jean-Jacques, or “JJ” as he is better known as is no stranger to Jumia; having had stints as CEO and Co-founder of Jumia Angola, MD Jumia Market Kenya and CEO Jumia Senegal between 2014 and 2018 before embarking on a journey with Zipline, a Silicon Valley-based company, as their Head of Private Partnerships. He returned to Jumia in 2019 as Chief Marketing Officer Kenya and progressed into Group VP Marketing overseeing 5 countries earlier this year. He also possesses experience from EY (Luxembourg) as a Financial Auditor and from Thomson Reuters (UK) in a past life. JJ holds a Master's (M.Sc) and a Bachelor of Sciences (B.Sc) in Business Engineering from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (Belgium) with a major in Finance; a dual Bachelor program in Business Administration from the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil).
