Jumia builds customer trust by launching Jumia Mall service for 50+ brands

Under the new ‘Jumia Mall’ category, customers will be able to easily identify & shop from the authorized dealers of leading brands.

Leading e-commerce platform, Jumia has introduced a new service to customers dubbed ‘Jumia Mall’. This is a curated section on the platform that allows customers to easily identify the official distributors of leading brands on the site. By providing this transparency, customers can choose to buy directly from their favorite brands, or from the wider marketplace.

To celebrate the introduction of the new category, the company will hold a week-long Jumia Mall Campaign from 16th – 22nd September to sensitize customers to the new service.

We are on a mission to build trust in online shopping. As part of this, we have partnered with over 50 brands to launch their Official Online Stores with Jumia Mall. This allows customers to shop from the official suppliers if they choose to. And for brands to differentiate their official suppliers from the wider marketplace. Through this, we seek to attract new customers into the online shopping category, for the benefit of both our brands & wider marketplace vendors

Customers who log onto the jumia.co.ke platform (or download the app), will have a choice to buy from Jumia Mall (official brands), Jumia Global (international vendors) or a large number of quality vetted local resellers (the marketplace)

Customers who shop on Jumia Mall will be guaranteed 100% authenticity, official warranties from the brands, and a 15 day return policy in case they change their mind.

His sentiments were echoed by HMD (Nokia) Senior Business Manager, East Africa,, Gopher Ogembo, who noted that “The new Jumia Mall channel is a great milestone in Jumia’s transformation into a brand-focused platform, guaranteeing top service and quality. We at Nokia are excited to pioneer these changes together with Jumia teams across Africa.”

Jumia has over 80,000 sellers, and serves over 750 million consumers in the region through its marketplace platforms in 14 African countries. The company directly employs 5000 people (500 of which in Kenya) and is expected to contribute significantly towards the 3 million jobs that are expected from online marketplaces by 2025.
